THE APPROACH I BRING TO MY WORK STEMS FROM YEARS OF STUDY, EMBRACING ROMANCE AND LETTING GO.

I consider myself an artist and my mission is to create beautiful portraiture that is romantic, timeless and feels natural. I truly believe that your photographs are your legacy.

I am inspired by fashion, romance, interior design, antique shops and motherhood. My favorite moments are snuggles, secret glances between you and your new spouse, belly laughs and blushing beauty. I love incorporating this inspiration with composition, mixing editorial with photojournalism, film tonalities, and movement to create a romantic photograph that has depth and emotion.

My love of photography started at the very young age of eight, when my parent's purchased a film camera and the first frames I exposed were at my older sister's wedding. I grew up watching my mom create wedding dresses and sitting in the corner as I looked up to beautiful women trying on dresses and talk about details, so you could say weddings and art are in my blood. Ten years later, I attended fine art school and was formally trained in film photography and the art of the dark room. While in college, my photography business blossomed and after graduating became self-employed in 2011.

I’m a wife to a handsome man named Brenton (it’s been over ten years since our first date) and a mother to an adorable little boy named Beck. We have two dogs, Killer and Kona, and we both grew up in South Dakota. We get our hard-working ethics and small town personalities from this beautiful state. Most days, you’ll find me caring for our son, working on the computer, packaging prints, cooking meals, cleaning house, practicing yoga and running around the metro for appointments and photo sessions. On weekends, I’m photographing a beautiful wedding and then having one day of rest. It’s a crazy beautiful life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

With over 10 years of experience, I continue to seek light, create romantic portraiture and fine art imagery.

THE STORY OF A SMALL TOWN GIRL, A CAMERA, A BIT OF LUCK, GOOD FRIENDS AND BIG DREAMS.

Late nights, movie nights with my family, loud laughs, chocolate, real conversation, 1950's modern furniture, dog lover, marble everything, lazy mornings, brushed gold, champagne celebrations, breakfast, organic living...

The winter cold,
horror movies, eating olives of any type, bullies, clutter, being unorganized, early mornings, trashy television, cats,
fast food, small talk,
overhead lighting,
running out of film...

I LOVE YOU

i love you not
